Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to install the extension in Google Chrome:
- Download the Extension: Click the "Download Extension (.zip)" button above to save
HotelPointsCalculator.zip to your computer.
- Unzip the File: Extract the
HotelPointsCalculator.zip file to a folder on your computer (e.g., using WinZip, 7-Zip, or your system’s built-in unzip tool). You’ll get a folder named HotelPointsCalculator.
- Open Chrome Extensions: Open Chrome and type
chrome://extensions/ in the address bar, then press Enter.
- Enable Developer Mode: In the top-right corner, toggle the Developer mode switch to On.
- Load the Extension:
- Click the Load unpacked button at the top of the Extensions page.
- Select the
HotelPointsCalculator folder you extracted (not the .zip file), then click Open or Select Folder.
- Verify Installation: The "Hotel Points Calculator" should appear in your extensions list. Ensure it’s enabled (toggle is blue).
- Use It: Visit AAdvantage Hotels, and the extension will highlight points per dollar on hotel cards!
Note: This extension requires Developer mode to be enabled in Chrome because it’s not distributed via the Chrome Web Store. Keep Developer mode on to use it. For updates, download the latest .zip file from this page and repeat the steps.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues:
- Ensure you’ve selected the folder containing
manifest.json, not the .zip file itself.
- Check that Developer mode is enabled in Chrome.
- Visit https://www.aadvantagehotels.com to test.
- Open the Console (F12) for errors and contact support if needed.
